Looking for Recommendations on a B850 Motherboard

I'm planning to build a new PC soon and can't decide which motherboard to go with. I'm pairing it with a 9800x3d CPU and an RTX 5070 GPU. I've read some negative reviews about Asrock's compatibility with the 9800x3d, so I'm looking for some recommendations for other brands or models that would work well.

When choosing a motherboard, I tend to focus on the number of M.2 slots and the price. I've had good experiences with both Asus and MSI motherboards in the past; they've worked reliably for me!

You might want to check this out; it has detailed info on lane sharing: [Link to Google Sheet](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NQHkDEcgDPm34Mns3C93K6SJoBnua-x9O-y_6hv8sPs/edit?pli=1&gid=454171143#gid=454171143). It could help clarify your options!

Just curious, why are you specifically looking for a B850 motherboard? For most use cases, there's hardly any performance difference between a B650 and an X870E board. Plus, unless you're using a budget GPU with limited lanes, PCIe4 should be sufficient for quite a while!

I recently went with the Asus TUF B850 after checking out a great video on hardware unboxed about B650 motherboards. They discussed VRM quality and features, which really helped me decide. The MSI B650 Gaming Plus was also on my shortlist, but the Asus was more accessible for me.

Another solid choice is the MSI MAG B850 TOMAHAWK MAX WIFI. It’s been well-received and should pair nicely with your setup!

My top pick these days is the MSI B850 Gaming Plus Wifi. Honestly, you shouldn't hit too many snags with any solid options that aren't from ASRock—it's frustrating because they usually have a fantastic feature-to-price ratio!
