I'm on the hunt for a FedRAMP certified SMTP service that can handle relaying email alerts to both internal and external recipients. I'm considering options like Azure Communication Services and Amazon SES. It seems like Azure might be easier to set up if we already have an Azure subscription, but I've heard that Amazon SES is more established. Any insights or suggestions on which would be better?

Just a heads up, I don't think self-hosting would meet FedRAMP certification. You might want to stick to those managed services like Azure or AWS to ensure compliance.
Have you thought about using a self-hosted Postfix setup? It could be an option for you if you're looking for more control. But then again, I wonder if going the self-hosted route meets FedRAMP requirements?
