I'm frequently dealing with financial statements, many of which are scanned or not very well formatted. I'm curious if anyone has successfully used OCR tools for this purpose and could recommend some good options.

I've tried SnapText, and I found it quite user-friendly with a lot of features. It handles various formats well, but I’m not sure how it performs on poor-quality scans.
If you're okay using an API, you might want to check out ParseExtract. It can pull data out and handle OCR tasks, or you could look into Llamaparse as another OCR option.
I've been using Lido for a while now, and it's been pretty reliable for dealing with messy scans. Definitely worth checking out!
I've experimented with a few OCR tools. They all seem to need some initial training, so if you’re using a bunch of different formats, it might struggle at first. Generally, though, it's more effective if you're processing high volumes of similar documents.
Can anyone confirm if SnapText can handle scanned PDFs, especially those with low resolution or odd layouts? Also, how well does it export to Excel or CSV without losing format?
