I'm currently helping a startup with a remote access project but I'm running into some trouble finding a simple solution. I've got 25 years of experience in IT but I'm now disabled and working on a tight budget with limited funds. I've tried solutions like Apache Guacamole, RDS itself, RustDesk, and others, but nothing seems to be working effectively. I'm aiming for something straightforward that can handle five users connecting into an RDP or VDI session. If anyone has suggestions for alternatives or could provide guidance, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Keep in mind that when it comes to Microsoft licensing, finding a solution with a zero budget is tough. Can you share more about what's not working with the setups you’ve tried? For instance, are you trying to connect to a legacy app or use SMB and SQL for a backend? More details might help pinpoint a solution.
I'm curious about why Guacamole or RDS isn't fitting your needs. A straightforward RDS server with a VPN in front should be pretty manageable. Could you clarify your challenges?
Parallels RDS could be a great option for you since it makes RDS setup super easy and even supports Single Sign-On. It could streamline the process you're dealing with.
What specific issues are you trying to solve? Are you looking to provide access to a web app, or do your contractors require full desktop access? Are there various business needs to consider? Defining the problem clearly could help in finding the right solution.
Have you looked into Windows 365 Cloud PC? It might be worth checking out as an option for your needs.

Really? I’ll definitely take a look at that, thanks!
