Looking for Tips on Beginner Programming and Resources

Hey everyone! I'm a total beginner in programming and I've recently started learning some HTML through neocities and going through codedex tutorials. However, I often find myself getting stuck and struggling with the basics. My main goal is to create a website, but I'm also interested in eventually exploring game and app development.

I've tried using AI like ChatGPT for troubleshooting, but I'd love to find other resources, especially those involving real people! Maybe there's a Discord server or some good YouTube channels or even forums where I can ask questions without feeling silly. I appreciate any advice or suggestions you have as I start this exciting journey! Thanks a ton!

You should definitely check out resources like FreeCodeCamp if you're looking to get into web development! They offer free courses covering HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Scrimba.com is also a fantastic option with interactive courses and a supportive Discord community.

I understand the struggle! Instead of AI, check out w3schools and MDN for some solid tutorials. If you're looking for a comprehensive guide, 'JavaScript: The Definitive Guide' by O'Reilly can be helpful, but it's a bit dense. The Odin Project is also highly recommended for beginners wanting to create real projects as they learn.

Don't forget, HTML is just a markup language! To really get into programming, you’ll want to learn some actual programming languages. You might start with JavaScript after getting a handle on HTML and CSS.

Totally agree! Learning JavaScript opens up a ton of possibilities for web development. You can start building small projects as you learn.

To kickstart your learning, just start building simple websites! You can experiment with code you find online or try to recreate existing sites to learn how they work. It's a hands-on way to really grasp the concepts and have fun along the way! Good luck on your coding adventure!

It’s a great idea to learn a programming language before diving into frameworks! I took a basic Java course in college, and it really helped me understand the fundamentals like data types and control flow. Once I got those down, I could pick up other languages and frameworks much more easily.
