Looking for Tips on Migrating from Dropbox to SharePoint Online

Hey folks! I'm knee-deep in planning a migration from Dropbox to SharePoint Online and any advice from those who've done it would be super helpful. Here's the scoop:

- **Total Data Size:** About 18TB
- **Users:** 74
- **What We Have:** Individual user data plus TeamSpace content

**Target Setup:** Using SharePoint Online for team data and OneDrive for individual data. I'm opting for a phased approach by department instead of a full switch all at once.

**Tools I'm Considering:** Microsoft's built-in migration tool from Dropbox to SharePoint.

In the past, I experimented with Synology NAS during a different migration, but it resulted in some syncing headaches where files didn't sync properly, even with full admin permissions. So, I'm skipping that method this time!

I'd love to know:
- What lessons have you learned from similar migrations?
- Are there limitations or tricky edge cases we should prepare for?
- How did the tool work for migrating TeamSpace versus individual folders?

I actually did a similar migration, but we only had about 2TB of data. The major obstacle was running into file path length issues afterwards. There was also a lot of handholding required for end users to help them understand the difference between syncing and using 'Add shortcut' in OneDrive.

Thanks for sharing! Did you stick with the built-in tool or go with something else? How did you handle migrating individual user data?
