Looking for Tips on Upgrading My PC for Better FPS

Hey everyone! This is my first PC build, and I'm curious about how I can boost my FPS in Star Citizen and a few other games. Right now, I'm averaging around 140 FPS in third-person space battles, about 90 FPS in first-person, and between 40-70 FPS in crowded city areas. I've already tried enabling the CPU's Expo profile in BIOS, but I'm looking for more suggestions. Here are my specs:
- ASUS Nvidia RTX 4060 with 8GB VRAM (from my old prebuilt)
- 32GB of DDR5 RAM
- AMD Ryzen 7 9700X 8-core processor
- 650W power supply
- Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX v2 motherboard

Also, I have a budget of around $800 and I usually shop at Micro Center in the Kansas City area. Thanks for any advice!

First off, could you let us know your budget? It sounds like you’re getting decent FPS in some areas, but there’s definitely room for improvement, especially in those crowded zones. For a good upgrade, consider getting a more powerful GPU if you can—maybe look at the RTX 4070 or equivalent. That should give you a solid performance boost across the board. Also, are you currently cooling your CPU properly? Ensuring good thermals can help maintain performance.

Agreed! An upgrade to the GPU could make a big difference. Also, just checking, are you running the latest drivers? Sometimes, that's an easy fix for FPS drops!

Upgrading your RAM to 64GB could help in the busy environments, but given your budget, focusing on the GPU might be a smarter choice. Don't forget, making sure your system is optimized—like setting graphics settings to balance performance—can help too!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll definitely look into optimizing the settings alongside any upgrades!
