Looking to Upgrade My Aging PC – Need Advice!

Hey everyone! I built my PC about 6-7 years ago, and it has served me well, but I'm starting to struggle with newer games. Many of them have minimum requirements that exceed my current specs. While most games run, I'm getting really low FPS even on the lowest settings. Right now, I have a budget of around $500 for upgrades. I want to stick with AMD for my components. Here are my current specs:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 six-core
- RAM: 16GB (I think this should be fine)
- GPU: Radeon RX 570 (4GB)

What upgrades should I prioritize and what should I look into getting?

I think you should go for a mid to high range 5th gen CPU on the AM4 socket. Going up to 32GB of RAM could help too, but I’d focus on getting a solid GPU since that's where you’ll see the biggest improvement. Whatever you can fit into your budget will be the key!

For your budget, I’d suggest upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600 along with a Radeon 6600 XT for around $470-$480. This combo should give you a nice performance boost without breaking the bank.

In my opinion, your $500 might not stretch enough for a complete platform upgrade (including motherboard, CPU, and RAM). If your CPU isn’t holding you back, I’d recommend a 5060 Ti with 16GB of VRAM. This setup will help you maintain decent performance for now. You might consider increasing your budget to $750 to enable more options, especially since you're using a 1080p TV as your monitor. Upgrading your monitor would be great but maybe hold off on that until your PC is up to par!
