Looking to Upgrade My AM4 CPU—What Are My Options?

I'm currently using a Ryzen 3 1300X and RX 580 setup and was planning to upgrade to a Ryzen 5700X3D from AliExpress. However, prices have skyrocketed to around $250, and I'm hesitant to spend that much on an older socket. I'm looking for alternatives that can help me run games like CS2, R6, and Rust at 1080p, aiming for as close to 144fps as I can get. I'm also considering upgrading to an Intel Arc B580 or similar once prices stabilize.

What motherboard are you using? Not every 300-series AMD board supports the 5000 series CPUs. If you're looking for a solid GPU under $200 right now, the ASRock 6600XT Challenger D is a great choice at around $219. It gives the best value for your money!

I’m using the A320M HDV R4.0 board. Thanks for the heads-up about the GPU—I'll definitely check it out!

If the 5700X3D is off the table, the next best option is the Ryzen 5700X. It's a downgrade from the X3D but will still significantly outperform your 1300X, especially if you're using a decent GPU. Just keep in mind that the B580 might struggle with anything slower than a Ryzen 7600 due to CPU overhead issues.

If you're open to switching platforms, moving to AM5 will cost you around $350 and offer performance similar to the 5700X3D. However, if you want to stick with AM4, you could find a used Ryzen 5 5600 for under $100, and there are plenty available.
