Looking to Upgrade My CPU for Better Gaming Performance

Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU because I'm playing competitive games like CS:GO and Valorant, and I'm struggling to hit a consistent 240+ FPS. My current setup has an i5 14400F, but it just feels a bit unstable. I'm hoping to find a CPU that can help me achieve that stable frame rate. Any recommendations?

Before going for a new CPU, you might want to double-check if the CPU is really the problem. What GPU are you using and at what resolution? The 7800X3D or 9800X3D can give you the performance boost, but you'd need a new motherboard too. If it's more convenient, a 14600K could be a good fit for your current setup without needing to replace much.

Yeah, I think it might actually be the CPU. I'm running a 4060 with 16GB of DDR5 RAM, but my motherboard (the Gaming Plus Wifi B760) might not support those AMD CPUs.

For a solid upgrade, you should consider the 7800X3D or 9800X3D along with a new motherboard that supports DDR5. You might want to look at the Gigabyte Eagle B850 Wifi 6E mobo as well for those models. It's a great upgrade path if you're aiming for that stable high FPS!
