Looking to Upgrade My CPU on a Budget—Any Recommendations?

I've been doing some research and realized my current CPU is really holding back my system. I'm looking to upgrade and I have a budget of around 300 to 450 AUD, but I'd prefer to spend less if possible. My current setup includes an i7 6700, 32 GB of RAM, a GTX 1650 Super, and a 1 TB SSD. What CPU options should I consider that would offer a solid upgrade?

Just make sure to check your RAM speed specs! You might be able to keep your existing RAM to save money. You could consider going with an Intel socket 1700 with a DDR4 board (12th-14th gen CPU) or AM4, especially since you're in the AUD region. This could free up some budget for a GPU upgrade too.

To really maximize your upgrade potential, consider going for a newer CPU and maybe an upgraded GPU at the same time. They're both getting a bit slow for modern gaming.

If you're looking to see a significant boost in performance, keep in mind that upgrading just the CPU might not be enough. You'll likely need to swap out the motherboard and possibly the RAM, too, since your current setup is pretty dated. Also, the GTX 1650 Super isn't great for newer games, so you might want to consider a GPU upgrade afterwards. What RAM speed do you currently have?

You'll definitely need to change your CPU and motherboard for sure. It's also worth looking into RAM if you're trying to stick to your budget; there are options out there that could save you some cash.
