Looking to Upgrade My CPU – Thoughts on Ryzen 5 9600X?

I'm thinking about upgrading from my Intel Core i5-10400F since it's struggling to run the Battlefield 6 Beta. I want some advice before I make my first move. I know I'll need a new motherboard and RAM for a newer CPU. My budget is between £400 and £500 for everything (CPU, motherboard, and RAM). I'm considering the Ryzen 5 9600X, but should I invest in something better that'll last longer? Here are my current specs: Intel Core i5 10400F, 16GB RAM (2x8G CorVenRGBPRO DDR4 3000), CX550F 550W power supply, MSI MAG B460M MORTAR WIFI motherboard, EVGA 3060 Ti, and a 1TB WD Blue SN 550 NVMe SSD.

With a budget of £400-500, you might want to consider something better than the 9600X. For around £499, you could get an 8-core CPU, a solid cooler, and 32GB of decent RAM along with a capable motherboard. The Ryzen 7 7700 (non-X) is slightly cheaper and comes with its own cooler, and it would actually perform better in games like Battlefield 6 since it can utilize more cores. You could check this build: [PCPartPicker link].

Is there much difference between the Ryzen 7 9700X and the 7800X? Also, will I need to upgrade my power supply for these options?
