Hey everyone! I recently bought a PC with a GEFORCE GTX 770 along with my son, and I'm trying to figure out how to upgrade the graphics card. I'm a bit lost when it comes to knowing which cards would be compatible. Is there a good website or any tips you can share for finding the right upgrade? Thanks for your help!

All GPUs and motherboards have been using PCIe for quite some time, so theoretically, any GPU should work with your setup. I'd recommend starting by deciding on a budget for your upgrade and searching for options that fit within your price range. Just keep in mind to measure the space in your PC case to avoid getting a card that's too big!

I appreciate the tips! Feeling a bit embarrassed with all this tech stuff, but I'm just trying to bond with my son.

Also, remember to check the GPU length in the specs when you're looking online, and compare that with your case dimensions.

Honestly, upgrading from a GTX 770 might not give you a significant boost, especially if the rest of your system is outdated too. If it's from 2013, it could be a bit of a lost cause for modern gaming. You’d likely have to upgrade your whole setup to benefit more, unfortunately.

Wow, that's a bit disheartening. I thought I was making a good purchase for gaming.

Check out www.pcpartpicker.com for compatibility checks on your components. Doing a bit of research on articles from when the GTX 770 was popular might help too. If you can share details about your CPU and RAM, we can help pinpoint better options!

Thanks! My CPU is an AMD FX 8300 with a base speed of 3.30GHz and 28GB of RAM.

Your GTX 770 uses PCIe x16, which means modern GPUs still fit that connection. The key things to watch are the length and dimensions of the new card to ensure it fits in your case. Just measure what you already have and find a suitable replacement!

Thanks for clearing that up! I'll definitely check the size of my current card against new options.

If your PC has an older GTX 770, it probably needs a more complete upgrade—CPU, motherboard, GPU— to run any modern games smoothly. It might be tough but good to consider it all at once. You’ll want to know what games you're aiming to play too!

Good point! What games do you actually want to play?
