Looking to Upgrade My Old PC for Better Gaming Performance

Hey there! So I've got a PC that's about 5-6 years old, and I'm starting to struggle with newer games running smoothly (for example, Mafia: Old Country is only hitting 30-40 FPS consistently). The last thing I upgraded was adding a new SSD to it.

I'm not trying to build a rocket ship that can handle everything in 4K; I just want something that'll perform decent for newer games. Here are my current specs:

- Intel Core i7 8700K @ 3.70GHz
- 32.0GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1066MHz
- MS-7B48 motherboard (Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Z370-A PRO)
- 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (ZOTAC International)
- Cooler Master liquid cooling (not sure of the model)
- Aerocool power supply (I can check the model if needed)

If there's anything I forgot or that you need to know, just let me know! Appreciate any suggestions on what I should upgrade. Thanks!

If you're willing to put in about €1500 for multiple components, that opens up a lot of options! For instance, getting a new graphics card and possibly an upgraded cooler could help with stability and performance. You might also want to consider a more recent CPU if you are looking for a significant leap in performance, but be sure to check compatibility with your motherboard first!

Totally agree, just be careful about how many components you change at once! It's best to do it step-by-step but keep in mind that the latest GPUs can really boost your gaming experience.

It sounds like a solid plan to upgrade since your PC is showing its age. A good start would be to boost your GPU since the RTX 2070 can struggle with some newer titles. Also, consider upgrading your RAM to a higher frequency; 1066MHz is quite low for modern games. A new power supply might be good too, especially if you’re looking at more powerful components. Since you're in Portugal, keep an eye on local shops for deals. What’s your budget looking like?

Honestly, I wouldn't overspend on a single component. Aim for a balanced upgrade across the board instead; it'll give you better performance overall without breaking the bank!
