Hey everyone! I've got a chance to buy a 2070 or 2070 Super to upgrade my really old PC. Currently, I'm using a 970, so this would be a significant upgrade for my casual gaming. But I'm a bit worried about it bottlenecking with my overclocked i5 4690k running at 4.5GHz. I'm looking for some advice on what CPU I could potentially upgrade to while still using my GIGABYTE GA-Z97X-SLI Z97 motherboard. I used to be up-to-date on PC building, but since having kids, I haven't had the time or budget to keep up with all the changes. Ideally, I'd love a straightforward CPU swap along with the GPU upgrade without diving into a full rebuild.

Unfortunately, there's no real upgrade path for your current motherboard. If you want to get a faster CPU, you’ll likely need to invest in a new motherboard and RAM too. So keep that in mind!
Thanks for the reply! I was really hoping for just a little boost, but I guess I'll have to wait it out and save for a bigger upgrade. Nice to have a plan!
