Hey everyone! I'm planning to dive into Borderlands 4 but my PC is pretty basic, built cheaply back in 2020 and toughing it out ever since. Here's what I've got:

- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8gb) 3600MHz
- Motherboard: ASUS Prime B550M-A
- SSD: 2TB WD Green SN350
- Screen: ViewSonic VX2458 24" Curved FHD at 144hz
- Case: Cooler Master MasterBox MB500 RGB
- Power Supply: Some cheap Corsair brand

I'm a bit clueless about PCs, so I'd love to get some advice on what upgrades I should consider to get the best experience with Borderlands 4. Thanks!

If you check Steam, they list the minimum and recommended specs for Borderlands 4. You're looking at at least an Intel i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X for the processor, and a GPU like the RTX 2070 or RX 5700 XT. Your setup might barely run it, but the CPU could use an upgrade based on those requirements.

You should definitely consider upgrading both your GPU and CPU. For the CPU, look at getting a Ryzen 7 5700X or 5800X; it has the extra cores that Borderlands 4 requires. For the GPU, at least a 3060 or 7600 would be a solid choice, but if you can swing it, aim for something better like the 6800XT or 3060 Ti.

I’ve got a setup with a 5600X and a 5700 Ti, and I’m managing around 220 FPS at high settings. Just goes to show how much CPU power you’ll need for smooth gameplay!

I’d say upgrade the GPU first. It’ll make the most noticeable difference in your gaming experience!

Honestly, I’d hold off on upgrading your rig just yet. Borderlands 4 has been rough on even high-end PCs, so waiting a month or two could save you some headaches. Let them roll out some patches first; you don’t want to throw money at upgrades that might not even help right now!

Right? It's wild how people keep hyping up game engines like Unreal 5 while we’re stuck dealing with absurd system requirements and poor performance. Plus, it’s typically the AAA titles that seem to mess things up the most. Just wait it out!

By the way, Nvidia has a promotion going where you get Borderlands 4 for free when you buy a 50 series GPU. Just thought I’d throw that out there! Might be worth checking.

If your build is still holding strong, you might consider just waiting for next-gen parts. But if you’re itching to upgrade now, getting 32GB of RAM for under $100 is a good idea, and look for an affordable, high-tier CPU for your motherboard. Take it slow, though!

Honestly, to get solid performance in Borderlands 4, you might need to drop close to $1,000 on upgrades. Just be cautious before committing!
