Hey everyone! I'm thinking about upgrading my PC but I'm not too tech-savvy and could use some guidance. My current setup includes a GTX 1650, an Intel Core i5 from the 9th generation, 16GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and an SSD (though I'm not sure about its specifics). I'd really appreciate any suggestions on where to begin with upgrades to boost my performance!

For a more immediate upgrade, go for a new GPU like the RX 6600 XT. It's much stronger than your current card and can be found used for a decent price. Just make sure to check your CPU and RAM specs because not all i5s are equal, and RAM speeds can vary a lot too!

I appreciate the advice! I’ll have to check those specs without tearing my PC apart.

Before making any upgrades, it's important to clarify what you use your PC for and what specifically you're hoping to enhance. Pinpointing your main usage can help in getting the best recommendations for upgrades!

First off, it really depends on your budget for upgrades. If you’re looking to make a noticeable improvement, I’d recommend starting with a new GPU. The GTX 1650 is holding you back a bit. For a solid upgrade, consider something like the RX 6600 XT. You'll see a massive boost in gaming performance without breaking the bank!

I wasn't really thinking about a budget, just trying to figure out the best first step. Any GPU suggestions?

You'll definitely notice the biggest jump in performance by replacing your graphics card first. However, if you’re really aiming for a significant upgrade, you might want to consider replacing multiple components. It could be more practical to build a whole new PC and sell your current one instead!

That sounds like a good option! Thanks for the insight!

What types of games do you play? Also, do you use your PC for anything beyond gaming? If you’re not too concerned about ray tracing right now, that can help narrow down your options for a GPU upgrade!

I mainly just game on it, so ray tracing isn't crucial for me at this point.
