I've been working in DevOps for several years now and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge in various note-taking apps like OneNote, Notion, and currently Obsidian. Since I stopped using OneNote after my company blocked it, I've been trying to find a way to consolidate all my notes into one platform because searching through them has become really difficult. I'd love to hear about your experiences with similar migrations. Do you archive your notes? How do you manage notes relating to projects and platform migrations?

You might want to think about using a personal Git repository for all your notes. Storing them in a private BitBucket could be a good option. It keeps everything organized and secure!
I experienced a similar transition from OneNote to Obsidian. There’s an import tool for moving notes, but be prepared for it not to be perfect. I exported everything and kept logs to fix issues afterward. It was a hassle, but worth it! Now, I sync my notes with a private GitLab server, which means my data is safe and I don't have to worry about my company blocking access.
I totally get that! Having your own setup is so much better for managing sensitive info.
Are you looking for a way to migrate your notes or just a new app that can handle all those notes for you? Since Obsidian uses Markdown, which is open-source, you might want to fully commit to it. This way, you can maintain control over your data without worrying about vendor lock-in.
Is there a way to do this without having to manually convert everything to Markdown?
