Hey everyone, I'm trying to troubleshoot an issue for a friend. His son's monitor randomly displays 'no signal' and shuts off, and the only way to get visuals back is to restart the PC. They have a MSI G272 monitor paired with a Radeon RX 5500XT GPU. This problem doesn't happen when they boot in safe mode, which makes me think it might be something related to the regular settings. They've already had a specialist check all components, and everything seemed fine. Here's a list of what they've tried so far:
- Upgraded the power supply
- Tested with a different monitor
- Switched out the HDMI cable
- Cleared the display cache from the registry and re-registered the monitor
- Updated drivers with an AMD cleanup tool
- Factory reset the PC
- Checked power settings for both the PC and monitor
Despite all this, the issue persists, and I'm starting to suspect it might be a wire or connection issue inside the build, or possibly the GPU isn't seated correctly. Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! They're currently unable to reinstall anything after the reset because the problem keeps happening. Thanks!

I would suggest fully reinstalling Windows. Factory resets don't always clear everything, so you might want to use diskpart commands in the command prompt to wipe the drive completely before a fresh install. That could help resolve any lingering issues.
Where can we download Windows from without having to pay for it again?
