I recently bought a 2TB external SSD for my Windows 11 laptop to manage my storage better. I created a folder called 'personal' to store important data. However, when I plugged it back in after a few weeks, I found that my folder was empty—no files or any other folder inside it. I've tried unplugging and plugging it back in, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone know how this could happen or what my next steps should be?

Have you used the SSD at all since you first copied your data? If this is the first time you’re trying to access it again, double-check the copy process—sometimes you need to wait for the data to fully transfer before removing it.
This just goes to show how crucial backups are! Always have a backup plan for your important files. Losing data can really feel like tech Darwinism—if you don’t adapt, you just lose everything.
Before panicking, try checking if your files are just hidden. That happened to someone I know; one day they realized their entire user profile was somehow marked as "hidden." Make sure you're checking for hidden files!
It sounds like you might have a counterfeit SSD. A lot of fake storage devices are floating around these days, so it’s worth checking how much you paid and who the manufacturer is. If the price was suspiciously low, that could be a red flag!
Yeah, I've heard about that too—it's a total nightmare. Always best to buy from reputable places!
Great suggestion! Sometimes it’s just a simple glitch that can be fixed.
