My Alienware Laptop is Struggling with GPU Performance—Help!

I recently restarted my Alienware laptop running Windows 11 due to a driver issue, and now I'm facing serious performance problems. I used to run games at over 100-200 FPS with low GPU usage, but now even low-intensity games rarely stay above 50-60 FPS, often dipping below 20 FPS for extended periods. Sometimes, when I crank the graphics settings up on games that should handle it fine, the screen goes black, and I hear the disconnect sound from my PC. I've noticed a lot of nvlddmkm Event 153 entries in the Event Viewer. Could my GPU be fried, or is it a connection issue, or something else entirely? Any advice?

Have you checked for GPU driver updates? Sometimes, you can overlook newer versions, and this could significantly impact performance.

I checked both Dell and NVIDIA, and everything says it's up to date.

Another thing you could try is uninstalling the new NVIDIA app. Some users have reported that it causes issues with performance; removing it might help with your problem.

It might be worth considering if your GPU is overheating. Make sure to check the temperature to rule that out; sometimes, it can throttle performance to avoid damage.

I really doubt it's overheating since the temps are around 70 degrees, but they might go up a bit during heavy use.
