I have a budget Asus Vivobook E410MA that I've been using for about three years. Recently, it suddenly shut down while I was working when the battery level was at 23%. Now, it won't charge at all; the charging light just blinks orange instead of turning white when it's fully charged. I can power it on while it's plugged in, but if I unplug it, it dies immediately. I've tried holding the power button for 30 seconds multiple times, but nothing changes. Is my battery just dead, or could it be something else?

Sounds like you might need a new battery. Fortunately, they're not too expensive and swapping them out is pretty straightforward if you have some basic mechanical skills. You can find tutorials online that show how to do it. Although there is a chance that the battery still has some life left but might have problems internally that stop it from charging. It's usually the battery, especially if you've been running it on low a lot, which tends to wear them out faster. Ideally, you want to charge between 20% and 80% to keep it healthy. Check online or on sites like eBay for a replacement—it should be under $75. Good luck!
If your battery is completely dead, it won't work anymore just like that—especially if it dies when unplugged. I think it sounds pretty likely that your battery has given up the ghost.
Yeah, that definitely makes sense. Just frustrating how quickly it happened!
Thanks for the tips! I'm really hoping it's just the battery and not something more serious since I haven't dropped it or anything.
