My Blu-Ray Drive Keeps Ejecting Disks—What Could Be Wrong?

I've got a second-hand Logitec LBD-PUD6U3L Blu-Ray/DVD/CD drive that I imported from Japan. The seller assured me it was lightly used and tested before shipping, but now that I have it connected to my desktop PC, I'm having some trouble. Windows recognizes the drive, but when I insert a disk, it spins up, beeps, and then cycles repeatedly without actually reading it. Eventually, it just stops trying and starts auto-ejecting the disk. I've tried CDs too, including Japanese ones, and they won't load either. I don't think it's a region issue since it's supposed to handle CDs just fine. I've checked for enough power supply and used an external 5V plug, but that hasn't worked either. I've also ensured the drivers are up-to-date and the lens is clean. I'm starting to think the drive might just be faulty, but I'm hoping someone can provide insight or ideas to troubleshoot further.

Does the drive show up in Device Manager? If you’ve tested it on another device and it still doesn’t work, it might just be a bad drive. Just curious if you have thought about getting a local one instead?

Yes, it shows up fine in Device Manager, and I've also tried it on an old Windows 10 laptop without success. I bought it from Japan mainly due to the better price—second-hand drives are way cheaper there.

Could it be a driver issue? Sometimes things can get wonky, even with official drivers. Have you tried downloading and installing the latest from Logitec's website?

I did get the drivers straight from Logitec's site, so I don't think it's a third-party issue.

If it keeps trying to read and fails, it's likely the drive itself is the issue. You’ve already tried various disks, so it’s time to consider that the drive might be faulty.

That’s what I’m starting to think too. Hopefully, losing 40 euros isn't too bad compared to the price of a new one.
