I recently moved to Japan from Australia and shipped my computer along with my belongings. Upon reconnecting it here, the computer initially powered on without any issues. However, it shut down after about a minute of running. I spoke to a technician who mentioned that there shouldn't be a power issue since my power supply unit (PSU) is rated for 100V to 240V. But here's the kicker: it turns off whenever I plug in the monitor cable. Now, I can't even get it to turn back on until I wait a while.
I've come across some posts suggesting that the local power supply at 100V might be inadequate for my computer. Some people recommend using a step-up transformer, while others suggest replacing the PSU altogether. I have concerns about both options:
1. **Using a transformer:** Is it safe for prolonged gaming sessions (I'm usually on for 4-6 hours at a time)? If so, which transformers would you recommend that are available in Japan?
2. **Replacing the PSU:** Would this really help since it seems like the existing power supply is already struggling with voltage? What should I be looking for in a new PSU?
I'd rather avoid buying a new computer since mine is only a month old, plus all my important documents are saved on it. Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds like it could be a power supply issue, but before you jump to that conclusion, double-check all the internal connections. Sometimes during shipping, cables can get loose. Have you checked the GPU and other components? That might resolve the issue right away!
Yeah, I’ve tried that. Without any cables, it stays on for about 30 seconds, but I can't see anything, lol.
