My Computer is Bricked After Update – What Should I Do?

I'm at my wit's end here! My system has completely failed, and I can't even use the USB recovery drive. All restore points are gone, and safe mode won't boot either. This mess started after an iCUE update failed. I've been trying to run DISM offline to fix it, but I keep getting error messages 2 and 3, no matter how I adjust the commands. Now, I'm stuck with the only option being to manually copy files using CMD or wipe everything. My thesis is due at the end of the month, and I'm exhausted from trying to solve this!

It seems like all your earlier attempts to fix this might have made it worse, unfortunately. At this stage, it’s pretty unlikely your system will boot again. The best move would be to remove your internal storage and hook it up to another machine or an external enclosure to recover your data. After that, go ahead and erase the drive, then do a clean reinstall of Windows along with the necessary drivers and software.

It's a tough spot, but considering your deadline, if you can swing it, maybe look for a low-cost laptop locally just to get your thesis done. You can always fix your current setup later. Time is of the essence!

Honestly, if things are this bad, you might want to consider a secure wipe of your drive and do a fresh install of Windows. If you need to salvage your files, create a bootable Ubuntu USB. Boot from that, and you should be able to access and back up your files. Alternatively, connect your drive to another computer, if that's an option. Once you have everything backed up, wiping the drive and reinstalling Windows might be your best shot.
