My Computer Powers On but Doesn’t Boot – Help!

I've got a Windows 11 PC with a Ryzen 7 7700X, 16GB RAM, and an RTX 3060. After I hit the power button, everything turns on but it just won't boot up. If I hold the power button to shut it down and then restart, it eventually boots normally after about 15 to 30 seconds. Any ideas on what's going on?

It sounds like your issue could be related to RAM training. If you interrupt this process, especially with Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, it can lead to BIOS problems. Try waiting a bit after powering on before shutting down, and see if that helps.

I waited for an hour, but nothing changed.

You might have a defective part. Check if everything from the CPU to the RAM and all connections is perfectly seated. Sometimes it's just a loose connection that can cause these problems.

Make sure all connections are secure. Have you tried updating the BIOS? Sometimes a simple flash can resolve boot problems.

I’m going to try that and will update you all later.

Since this is a new build, it could be a lot of things. Either a faulty RAM stick, maybe the motherboard isn’t making proper contact, or the power supply isn’t sufficient. I'd recommend a process of elimination: start with only one RAM stick, remove your GPU if possible, and see if it boots. If it boot loops with just one stick, that could point to a RAM issue.

This sounds like an issue I faced. Mine had trouble waking from sleep. I completely powered it down, unplugged it, held the power button for 30 seconds, and removed the CMOS battery for a few minutes. After that, it booted normally. Maybe give that a shot?

I'll give this a try. Thanks for the tip!
