My Computer Stalls at a Command Prompt Screen, What Should I Do?

I just got a new computer and I'm not really tech-savvy, so I'm a bit lost. When I turn it on, it briefly shows the Republic of Gamers screen and then goes to a command prompt screen. However, there's no text displayed—just a blinking cursor. Can anyone help me figure out what might be wrong?

When you mention a 'command prompt screen', are you seeing a completely black screen or something else?

No, it’s not completely black—instead, there’s a flashing underscore at the top. It feels like I should be able to type something, but I can’t.

It sounds like your computer might not be recognizing a proper boot device. You should try pressing the 'Delete' key as it starts up to access the BIOS. From there, you can set a boot device, possibly using a USB with Windows 11 installation media on it. That might solve your issue!

Make sure the USB is properly formatted and has the Windows media on it. That could be why it’s not booting!

I used a USB for Windows 11 a couple of weeks ago, so I’ll look for it and give that a shot!
