My Computer Won’t Connect to the Internet, But My Phone Does!

I've just moved into a new apartment and set up my old router, which has always worked well for me in the past. My phone connects to the Wi-Fi immediately without any issues, but my computer only shows it's connected to the network with no internet access. It's frustrating because I know the internet is working since my phone connects just fine. I've rebooted both the router and my computer several times and even removed and re-added the network connection on my computer, but nothing seems to help. When I run the troubleshooting on my computer, it says there are no issues, but I clearly have no internet. Tech support hasn't been helpful either – just AI that doesn't understand. My computer connects perfectly to other Wi-Fi networks, but not to this router in my new apartment. Has anyone experienced this and knows how to fix it? I've been using my phone as a hotspot for work, and it's eating up my data!

Can you tell me how far your computer is from the router? Also, have you thought about connecting your computer directly with an Ethernet cable? It could help isolate the issue if that's possible.

Try going into your network settings, forgetting the Wi-Fi connection, and then reconnecting. Sometimes a fresh start on the network can solve these issues!

I actually tried that already, but thanks for the suggestion!
