I've been having issues with my CPU overheating. I reapplied thermal paste, and it worked fine for about a week, but now it's overheating again. My PC is around three years old and has an AIO cooler. If the cooler is failing, why did the thermal paste fix the issue temporarily?

First, you should check what temperatures you’re hitting, both idle and under load. If your PC won’t even turn on, that's a sign the problem might be serious. Keep in mind that high temperatures can signify different issues. When you say overheating, what exactly do you mean? If you're talking about AMD and it doesn’t exceed 95°C, that's somewhat acceptable, but ideally, you want your CPU below 60°C while in use.

When I was gaming, my FPS dropped drastically out of nowhere, from 200 to 5. I closed the game and couldn't get my PC to work again. Now, I just get a BIOS message that says my CPU is overheating as soon as I try to start it.
