My Ethernet Connection Says It’s Not Plugged In—Help!

I'm using a Windows 11 PC and I've been having some serious internet issues lately. My Ethernet cable is connected, but it still says it isn't plugged in. This started after I left my computer running for 23 hours while gaming. The screen went black, so I had to restart it, and now I can't connect to the internet at all. It's been like this for two days now—any ideas on how to fix this?

Make sure to check for any yellow triangles in Device Manager related to your drivers. Also, have you run the Windows troubleshooter? It's odd that both Ethernet and Wi-Fi aren’t working—check to ensure they’re not disabled in your settings.

I'm not sure how that relates to wired Ethernet, but you mentioned your Wi-Fi won’t connect either, right? That might indicate a broader issue.

Yeah, the fact that both connections are down is pretty weird. Just check to ensure everything is enabled, and your drivers are updated!

Oh no, that sounds frustrating! Do you have another connection method you could try to see if it's just your Ethernet? It might help pinpoint the issue a bit better.

Try these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Power down your PC completely by unplugging it for about 60 seconds. This can sometimes reset the Ethernet port if it's stuck.
2. Check the Device Manager by pressing Win + X and selecting it. Look for your Ethernet or Wi-Fi adapter—if you see a yellow exclamation mark, right-click it and choose 'Uninstall device.' Restart your PC to let Windows reinstall the driver.
3. Test a different Ethernet cable or port. Sometimes the issue lies with the cable or the router.
4. Perform a network reset: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset. This can solve a lot of connection problems! Hope one of these fixes works for you!

I tried a different Ethernet cable and it still didn't work for me, but the cable worked fine on my PS5—just not with my PC. So weird! Any other troubleshooting ideas?
