I'm having a frustrating issue with my external hard drive. Just yesterday, I was using it without any problems. However, today when I connect it to my PC, it gets recognized, and the LED starts blinking, but I can't access anything. After a little while, my computer begins to freeze and eventually goes black until I unplug the hard drive. Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this? Thanks!

Try right-clicking on the drive in your file explorer, go to properties, then tools, and check for errors. Sometimes that can help resolve these issues.
It might be a good idea to find a local tech who specializes in hard drives. You could also look up some videos online for troubleshooting, but be careful! The more you tinker with it, the greater the chance of losing your data. Just a heads up, data recovery can get pricey.
I had a similar issue with my hard drive, and I think it's probably broken. If it's just the controller, you might still be able to recover the data, but that can get quite expensive.
I once managed to recover files from a failing drive using Linux and some recovery tools. If you're comfortable with that, it might be worth a shot!
Have you dropped the drive at all? Sometimes physical damage can cause issues like this. It's worth checking if there's any visible damage or weird noises coming from it.
