I'm dealing with a serious issue with my external hard drive. It seems to be failing as my PC can't even open it. It's making a lot of noise and it weirdly continues running even when the PC is shut down. The cable connection seemed to be faulty before because when I ejected the drive, my PC froze and I had to shut it down. Before the shutdown, I noticed a strange beep from the drive. Now, when I try to connect it, the light doesn't turn on, but I can hear that some components are still moving and it's noisy. My computer recognizes that a device is connected, but it can't access the files. I'm really worried about losing all my data. Is there any way to fix this, or is my data gone for good?

Have you checked your Disk Management? Sometimes drives don’t show in 'This PC' but might appear there, giving clues about their status.
Hey, I get that this is stressful! From what you described, it’s likely you're dealing with a hardware failure. The fact that your PC froze during an ejection suggests that some data was still being written. To help, we’d need to know the make and model of your external drive. That might lead us to specific troubleshooting guidance or support tools. Hang tight for responses!
It's a Silicon Power A75. The PC recognizes it a bit, but it won't show in 'This PC'. I'm worried since it's so noisy now; is there any hope for recovering the data?
Unfortunately, it doesn’t show up there either.
