My GPU Just Stopped Working, What Should I Do?

I'm having a problem with my XFX Speedster MERC 310 Black Edition Radeon RX 7900 XT, which has 20 GB of VRAM and is paired with an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz CPU. The video card has suddenly stopped being detected by my computer and has reverted to the basic display driver. The fans on the card still run, and it's powered up, but it only displays on one monitor. I'm uncertain if I should attempt to fix it or just buy a new one. I've been considering just repurchasing the same video card and reinstalling it. Any suggestions?

It sounds like your GPU might still be under warranty, so that's a good first step. Have you tried reseating the GPU in its slot and double-checking the power cables? Sometimes a physical tweak can solve the issue. Also, I recommend using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to clean out the old drivers and then reinstall the latest AMD drivers. It might help with detection problems.

I haven’t reseated it yet, but I did try reinstalling the drivers. Maybe I should look into that too.
