My HDD isn’t showing up in File Explorer, but it’s visible in Disk Management—what’s going on?

I'm having trouble with my HDD. It appears in Disk Management as online (Disk 0, Basic), but I can't find it in File Explorer. It's not listed in the Volume List either, and the options for creating New Spanned or Striped volumes are greyed out. Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like your HDD might just need a drive letter assigned to it. Check down at the bottom of Disk Management for the partition layout. If it's formatted as NTFS and has an existing partition with data, that's likely the issue. You can usually click on it and add a drive letter from there.

I see! I have it set to GPT right now, and I noticed it says I can convert it to Dynamic or MBR. Should I consider doing that?
