My iPhone 11 Pro Max has a broken screen—how can I recover my data?

Hey everyone, I just dropped my iPhone 11 Pro Max and now the top half of the screen is unresponsive. I'm unable to type the last digit of my passcode to unlock it, which is super frustrating! My phone died right after the drop, and I can't use Siri to enable voice control either. To make matters worse, my data hasn't been backed up in three years because I always get an error message when trying to do so. I know I should have backed it up earlier, but I'm not looking for that kind of advice. Is there any way I can access my phone or at least recover my data?

You might want to consider getting a temporary screen replacement. It could help you access your phone without losing your data.

But won't replacing the screen risk wiping everything on my phone?

Totally agree! Just focus on a quick fix for now.

It's probably time for a new screen. Once that's sorted, definitely come back and let us know about the error message you're seeing when you try to back up. We should be able to help you work through that!

Are you on a free iCloud plan? That might be causing some issues.
