My iPhone is lost and not showing up on Find My Device, what should I do?

Hey everyone, I accidentally lost my iPhone 16e while biking. I realized it was missing about 10 minutes later, but by then, someone must have picked it up and removed the SIM card because it's not appearing on Find My Phone. I'm really not tech-savvy, so I need some help. Is there a way to mark it as stolen or wipe it remotely? I'm feeling pretty overwhelmed right now.

Hold off on erasing your phone unless you're sure it's gone for good. The data on it is secured by your passcode and is encrypted. For now, just mark it as lost in the Find My app and leave your contact details in case someone tries to return it to you.

If your phone isn't showing up in Find My at all, it likely means someone turned it off or the battery is dead. But don't worry, you can still mark it as lost. Just open the Find My app, go to the Devices tab, select your iPhone, and hit "mark as lost." It’ll activate the next time it connects to Wi-Fi or cellular service.
