I've been using my iPhone SE for about a year and a half, and lately, it's been constantly telling me my storage is full. I try to delete apps and files, but it just keeps coming back. I realize part of the issue is that the Photos app is using up about 27% of my storage. This morning I got another storage warning and decided to delete some stuff. After a few hours, I tried to use my phone again, but it was stuck on the lock screen. I can't unlock it; pressing the home button does nothing, and even my password doesn't work. I attempted a bunch of resets—like holding the power and volume buttons— but no luck. I'm really worried because I have over 80,000 photos on there that document a significant part of my life. If I can't find a solution, I could lose all those memories. Can anyone help with ideas on how to backup before it's too late? Also, I have an iPad linked to this phone. Is there a chance I could delete files from the iPad to help this situation? Thanks for any advice!

I had a similar issue and was about to give up hope, but I managed to solve it! After I deleted around 10,000 photos, my phone started responding again. Maybe if you get a brief moment where the phone responds, try to delete a chunk of photos quickly to free up space. It could buy you some time!
It sounds like iOS is really struggling with that storage management! When your storage gets low, it can lead to app crashes and eventually, your phone may not respond at all. Definitely make sure your photos are backed up, even if it’s only some of them. If the bulk of your photos are safe, that’s a huge relief! You might have to consider restoring the device if it completely freezes up.
I think most of your photos should be good if they were backed up somewhere. Losing a few is better than losing everything! Just be cautious with deleting apps and files.
