My Laptop Keeps Losing WiFi Connection – What Can I Do?

I've been having a frustrating issue with my gaming laptop, which is only about 2 months old. Randomly, it disconnects from WiFi every hour or so, while other devices in my home stay connected without any problems. I've tried a bunch of fixes including resetting my network, checking for updates, uninstalling and reinstalling the network driver, restarting my router, and even tweaking some antivirus settings. The only thing I did around the time I started having this issue was uninstall McAfee. If anyone has suggestions or solutions, I'd really appreciate it because this is driving me crazy!

If you’re still having problems after trying all that, it might be worth checking out your network card settings or even trying a different network to see if it’s an issue specifically with your current setup.

Honestly, many times a simple wait can resolve these types of connectivity issues. But if that doesn't help, sit closer to your router to see if the connection improves. If it continues dropping, you might want to consider updating your network card driver or even replacing the card itself if it’s a hardware issue.

Have you tried turning off the power-saving features? Sometimes those settings can mess with your WiFi connection. You can usually find it in your laptop’s settings under 'Power Options.' Just make sure to set it to high performance or disable power-saving options for your network adapter entirely.
