My Laptop Keeps Restarting—What Can I Do?

I've recently reset my laptop, and now it keeps going into a constant reboot loop. I've tried booting into safe mode by holding the Shift key, but it just takes me to another screen instead. I'm also attempting to boot from a USB drive that I prepared for a clean Windows 11 install, but I can't get the laptop to even access safe mode. It's really frustrating—any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I totally feel your pain! I suggest you unplug the hard drive first, then reconnect the USB drive. After that, plug the hard drive back in before starting the installation. This way, you should be able to install Windows 11 without the system trying to boot from the hard drive first.

Thanks for the tip! Just a bit confused on the sequence—sounds like I need a clear step-by-step.

First off, you should try unplugging the hard drive, then plug in the USB and see if it starts the installation. Just a heads up, you do need a hard drive to install Windows onto, so make sure you reconnect it afterward. Have you been able to access the BIOS? If not, turn off your laptop completely, power it back on, and repeatedly hit the F2 or Delete key to get in. You may need to check online for your specific laptop model if those don't work.

Also, once you're in the BIOS, ensure that your USB drive is set as the first boot device and the SSD is second. After making those changes, save and restart.

Definitely check if you can get into the BIOS. You might need to change the boot order there. Sometimes, the USB may not be set up correctly, which could prevent it from being bootable. Make sure you're using a reliable method to create that USB drive.
