I'm having a frustrating issue where my laptop detects my GeForce RTX 4060 GPU, but it keeps using the CPU instead for processing. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and manually switching settings, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone experienced this and can offer some advice?

Check if your laptop is set to Energy Saver mode, as that will disable the dedicated GPU. If that's not the case, try going into the Nvidia Control Panel and force your applications to use the GPU through the settings there. It's common for laptops to confuse the graphics settings, especially when playing games in borderless mode. You can also verify which GPU is being used by opening Task Manager and checking under the performance tab. Honestly, it's a real hassle! Good luck!

I wasn't in Energy Saver mode, but that was a good thought! I'll check the Nvidia settings next.

It sounds like a tricky issue! Go to Windows settings > Graphics and add the applications you want to force use the Nvidia GPU. Check if they allow you to select which GPU to use. It's frustrating when laptops switch back to integrated graphics unexpectedly, particularly with certain display settings. Let us know if that helps!

Right! That's definitely worth trying. I’ll make sure to look into the settings more carefully.
