I'm having trouble with my HP laptop, as it keeps displaying a message saying 'boot device not found' and suggests that I install an operating system on my hard disk. The specific error is 'Hard disk (3F0)'. I've watched a bunch of YouTube videos, but I'm still unsure if I need to replace a part or if there's something else I can try to fix this issue.

There are a couple of scenarios here: either your hard drive or SSD is kaput, or your operating system is corrupted and isn’t booting up properly. If it's dead, you’ll need to replace it and reinstall your OS. If it's just not bootable, you can often recover your files by connecting it to another PC before a fresh OS install.

First things first, check your BIOS to see if your hard drive is recognized. If it isn't showing up there, unfortunately, it might be time to replace it.

Your hard drive that had the OS might be dead. It's a bummer, but it happens. Sometimes drives just fail. No idea how it could happen? Wear and tear, or power surges can really mess things up.
