My Laptop Started Stuttering After a Lamp Fell on It—What Should I Do?

I was studying and accidentally knocked my lamp over, which landed right on my laptop's keyboard. After that, my computer froze completely. I shut it down and noticed it's now stuttering a lot—programs take longer to open, and when I game, it's pretty much a slideshow. I checked everything inside to make sure it was all connected properly, and the only thing I found was that the battery was slightly unplugged but not significantly. I did a clean install of Windows 11 after running scans that detected corrupted files, but the stuttering didn't go away. I also updated my graphics drivers, but that didn't help either. When I play games, the CPU usage is around 30%, the GPU is all over the place between 0% and 42%, and my CPU temp is sitting at about 86°C. I'm starting to think the fall might have damaged something inside. Any thoughts on what I should check or do next?

It sounds like the fall may have messed up something crucial, especially if it hit right where the hard drive is. Since you're using an SSD, it's less likely that the drive itself is damaged because they’re more shock-resistant than HDDs. However, something else could be off, like the motherboard or connections. Have you checked if all internal components are seated properly? Also, consider running hardware diagnostics if you haven't already—some manufacturers include tools for this in the BIOS or can be downloaded from their website. It's worth a shot!

Good point about the SSD! I’d also recommend checking out any available firmware updates for your SSD. Sometimes they come with fixes that can improve stability.
