I'm considering buying some PC parts for $1000 from a friend, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it. I'm even thinking about selling my PS4 Pro to help with the cost. Here's what he's offering:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X (3.9 GHz 6-Core)
- GPU: Asus DUAL OC GeForce RTX 4060 (8 GB)
- RAM: Patriot Viper Venom 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR5-6400
- Motherboard: ASRock B650M Pro RS Micro ATX AM5
- Storage: Samsung 990 EVO 1 TB NVME SSD
- Case: Montech AIR 100 ARGB MicroATX Mid Tower
- Power Supply: MSI MAG 650W Gold Certified Fully Modular
All the parts are brand new, and I want to know if this is a good deal or if I can find a better price.

Honestly, $1000 for those parts is way too high. You could get all of those components new for less than that if you shop around. It's definitely not a good deal!
Even considering they are brand new, I'd still say no. You can build a solid rig for cheaper if you look in the right places. You’re better off not making this trade unless he drops the price significantly.
But what if I sell my PS4 Pro? Would that change things?
If you’re looking to upgrade from a PS4 Pro, this setup might actually be worth it for gaming, but the price is still iffy. You might find better deals online. Make sure to check around before committing!

But they're all brand new, so wouldn't I save on tax at least?
