I've been having some trouble with my laptop. It's plugged in and shows that it's charging, but no matter how long I leave it connected, the battery indicator remains at 0%. I've replaced the charging cable once already since the laptop wouldn't recognize any charge before. While it's still usable as long as it's plugged in, it dies immediately when I unplug it. What could be causing this issue? Are there any solutions, and importantly, is it safe to keep using it while plugged in? Just to mention, I've never dropped it or anything like that.

Sounds like your battery is completely dead. After a while, laptop batteries just don't hold a charge anymore. You can get a replacement either from the manufacturer or sites like Amazon. It’s a pretty straightforward fix!
Just make sure to check if your battery is swelling. Batteries that bulge can be very dangerous. While using it plugged in isn't ideal, if it's not hot or deformed, you should be okay until you can replace it. Just look up your laptop's brand and model for a replacement battery!
Totally agree! If there are any signs of swelling, for sure get that battery replaced ASAP. It's a good idea to turn off your laptop and remove the battery if you're really concerned, just to be safe.
Yeah, your battery is likely at its end. I recommend removing the battery and using your laptop like a desktop until you find a replacement. It’s definitely not safe to keep using it with a dead battery, especially since it can pose fire hazards!
