I've got this old laptop that's probably between 5 to 10 years old, a gift from someone. It was running perfectly fine until yesterday when it suddenly slowed down a lot. I checked the task manager and saw that the disk usage is at a constant 100%. I've tried a lot of things like deleting about 20GB of files, disabling Sysmain, and running multiple virus scans, but it hasn't helped. I have a HDD with 1.80 TB storage and 1.61 TB available, so I'm not sure what else to do. Now, I can't even run more than 4 tabs in Microsoft Edge without the laptop freezing for about 15 minutes. Anyone got any ideas?

It sounds like your HDD might be failing, honestly. Have you tried disabling indexing? That can help a bit. Also, you could run the built-in optimization tool to defrag it. If it keeps giving you trouble, I'd suggest looking into getting an SSD; it can make a huge difference!
I tried defragging already, and it didn’t do much. I might just have to save up for a new laptop at this point!
