My Monitor Keeps Going Black – Help Needed!

Hey everyone! I'm facing a frustrating issue where my PC disconnects from the monitor randomly, causing the screen to go black. It won't reconnect at all. I recently upgraded some parts—my integrated graphics to a GeForce 5080 and switched from a 650W PSU to a 1250W PSU. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 5600G CPU, a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite motherboard, 32GB of Corsair DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB SSD. I've also updated my NVIDIA and AMD drivers, along with the monitor's compatibility updates, but nothing seems to work! To make things weirder, I've noticed it tends to freeze when there's some shaking on the floor. Any tips?

I’ll be honest; I thought I had the fix for you, but then I realized I was just grasping at straws here. I’ve seen similar issues but can’t pinpoint an obvious solution. Keep troubleshooting and let us know if you find anything!

It sounds like a power connection issue. Make sure to double-check all power connectors, especially for the GPU at both ends. If the monitor cuts out when you jiggle the PC, something might not be seated correctly. Also, ensure your GPU is firmly in the PCIe slot and isn’t sagging. Updating your motherboard's BIOS and chipset drivers might help too. And don’t forget to connect your monitor directly to the GPU, not the motherboard. Since you’re using a 5600G, it might be bottlenecking the 5080 depending on the resolution, so keeping an eye on benchmarks for the 5080 could be useful. If you’re experiencing significant performance issues, looking at an upgrade to an X3D AM4 CPU or transitioning to AM5 might be worth it.

I’ve checked the PSU connections and had the same issue but with integrated graphics only. I’ll definitely try updating the BIOS and chipset drivers next. Also, since I have a 5900X on hand, would that be a better option for my setup?
