My Monitor’s Brightness Keeps Dimming on Bazzite

I've recently switched to Bazzite and I'm facing a persistent issue where one of my monitors keeps dimming over time. My setup includes an NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 TI graphics card and two identical Samsung Odyssey G40B monitors. The primary monitor is significantly darker compared to the secondary one. I've tried a few fixes, such as swapping cables and monitors, but the problem returns after a few hours. I also used DDCUtil to check the brightness settings via the terminal, but it indicates a value of 0 for both displays and shows errors regarding the EDID. I reset my monitor configurations by deleting the kwinoutputconfig.json file, and I've turned off 'Eco Mode' and 'Smart Energy Saving' options on the monitor's settings, but nothing seems to work. Has anyone experienced this or have suggestions?

I had a similar frustration with my monitor on Bazzite. Even though I always keep my brightness set at 100%, it would drop every now and then. I also experienced this after my screens turned off. It's like they weren't waking up correctly, which would sometimes lower the brightness. You might want to check if there’s a firmware update for your monitors, or try disabling any auto-adjust features if they have them. Good luck!

Have you checked the brightness control widget on your KDE desktop? Sometimes it can get accidentally adjusted, which might explain the dimming. I actually had a similar issue where my brightness would lower by about 30% randomly. Just scrolling on the widget usually fixed it for me. Also, if you're using a nightlight feature or any power-saving settings, those might be causing the brightness drop too. Have you noticed if it happens more when your screens turn off? That can sometimes trigger a weird reset in brightness.
