My Mouse Keeps Freezing in Games – Need Help!

I'm having a frustrating issue where my mouse keeps freezing during games. I started out with an old Redragon M808 that would freeze for about a second while I played Valorant, without the typical disconnect sound. Thinking it might be an old cable issue, I bought a new wireless mouse, the Attack Shark X11, but I'm experiencing the exact same problem now. Initially, it was just a freeze every so often, but it's getting worse. Here's what I've tried so far: I've formatted my PC and reinstalled drivers, even used a different SSD to rule that out. I monitored power spikes with HWiNFO64 and everything seems normal. I've switched USB ports and plugged in my keyboard, which works fine, but both mice still freeze up. I suspected Valorant's anti-cheat system was causing issues, so I uninstalled it and played CS instead, but the problem persisted. I also tried the new mouse in wired mode, ran stress tests on my CPU, GPU, and RAM with no issues, and even ran MEMTEST86 on the RAM. I've disabled USB selective suspend and power-saving settings in Windows, but I'm at a loss for what to do next. Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated!

Could it be a BIOS issue? You mentioned 'b450 usb dip'—is there a chance your BIOS needs an update? Sometimes outdated firmware can lead to connectivity issues like this.

I've been running the same BIOS and motherboard for 3 years without issues, so I’m not sure if that’s the root of the problem.

Have you tried unplugging all other USB devices? Sometimes other peripherals can cause interference. Just remove everything except the mouse and keyboard to see if the freezing stops.

I only have my keyboard plugged in (besides the mouse), and I swapped their ports around, but the mouse is still misbehaving.

You mentioned your keyboard works fine and there's no RGB on the PC. That rules out some flashy power draw issues. It might be worth checking if there’s a software conflict with your mouse drivers.
