My New Build Won’t Boot – Red Lights and BIOS Issues

Hey everyone! I just built a new PC with a Ryzen 7 7700 CPU, an Eagle B650 motherboard, and Viper DDR5 RAM (16GB). When I try to boot it up, a red light appears next to the DRAM indicator, and I'm worried there might be compatibility issues. I read that it could also be related to the BIOS, so I attempted to update it, but my motherboard won't upgrade. When I use the QFlash button, a red light next to the CPU slot lights up, and after about 20 seconds, it shuts down. I'm at a loss here—any ideas on what might be wrong? Thanks in advance!

It doesn't sound like a BIOS issue. Your motherboard should support the 7700 right out of the box. Have you given the system time to sort out the memory? Sometimes it takes a moment for the RAM to train itself properly. Just be patient and see if it sorts itself out.

How can I give it time? I try to boot it and get nothing on the screen—just that red light next to the RAM.

It's not booting at all for me—just the red light when I connect everything. That's why I'm trying to get the motherboard updated.

Do you have two 16GB DDR5 sticks? If so, try booting with one stick at a time to see if one might be faulty. It could help narrow down the issue.

Great idea! I'll give that a shot.

Keep us posted! Sometimes it's just a bad stick causing all the trouble.
