My New Gaming PC Keeps Turning On and Off – Help!

I just finished building my first gaming PC, but when I try to start it, the CPU fan and PSU fan spin for about two seconds, then they shut off and turn back on again. This looping continues without any progress. The power button lights up while the fans are on, but turns off when the fans stop. Here are my specs:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte DDR3 GA-H81M-D2V
- Graphics Card: GTX 1060
- RAM: 2x 4GB DDR3 (planning to upgrade soon)
- SSD: 120GB Kingston SATA 3 + 500GB WD Blue SATA 3.5"
- PSU: GS800 800W Corsair
- Case: 3000D Corsair Airflow RGB.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

This could be caused by several issues. You might want to check if the motherboard is properly installed on all the standoffs to avoid shorts. Also, make sure the power/reset switches are connected correctly. It could be faulty RAM or a bad PSU too, even a CPU issue. Lots to consider!

When I took out the RAM and powered the PC, it still looped the same way. Normally, you should hear beeping if the RAM was truly the problem. I bought my PSU refurbished from eBay, so I’m a bit worried about that too. How can I test if it's faulty?

Try removing all non-essential components and just keep the CPU, RAM, and GPU if your motherboard doesn’t have integrated graphics. It could also help to check the built-in self-test code or LED indicators on the motherboard to diagnose further.

How exactly do I check the built-in self-test code? Also, my motherboard doesn't support RGB lights—would that have any impact?
